Through the years, The International has strived to provide its audience with the highest possible quality journalism. The company has practiced its craft with unparalleled efforts, building a publication known for consistently providing perspicacious and insightful stories. Its mission has always been to pursue accountability among the individuals, organizations or entities that may otherwise escape unhindered, and the company plans to stay true to that notion.
While working as a lead web desginer at The International, I was fully in charge of designing a sub-platform of the company: a news media sharing website that aimed to lauch on august, 2014. My job was to design and architecture the entire platform to make it as easy and simple to use as possible and stay consistent to its official website's design language.
Before I started on designing the look and feel of the entire product, I actually took a step back to think about the users. What kind of feel do we want to deliver to the users? What feature would be the one that users want? Started from some initial sketches, I digged into information architecture and wireframe gradually. Finally, I came up with this refined grid system that help users navigate around the page and read effortlessly.
